They wanted to make an example out of him at the expense of something said that is not half as bad as many other FCC regulated DJs say pretty frequently....The advertisers want to capitalize on being PC, the school wants the pub and CBS is just trying to get out of the shadow of Fox and NBC....God Bless America!! :p

Yo, if you hear the actual broadcast where he said the now infamous comment, you can just feel the racism oozing out of the speaker.

Nevertheless, who listens to his dumbass show to begin with? I did not even know that old fool was still alive. What a way to end a career.

How are advertisers going to capitalize on pulling their ads? That is a loss for them. If you had a company, would you want your products supporting a racist? Never mind who it is, just think that your business is going to suffer from the connection. Seriously, who is going to sit there and say, "Oh, I think I will drink Pepsi now because they pulled their ad from Imus." What sort of bubble head thinks like that?

I heard the replay of what he said. How is it racist? Due to the use of the word "nappy?" It may have been sexist, but racist? Uh...no. My point was that things WORSE than what Imus said happen everyday and because it was a slow news week, it gets blown out of proportion and the guy gets made an example of. I could care less about the content of his show since I never listened/watched it anyway.

Reread my post. I said they (the advertisers) want to capitalize "on being PC" by dropping their ad dollars because in the end it WILL bring them more business because the same idiots who protest Imus or kill time sending emails or calling the media or the media companies will applaud the advertisers and support them for making the "right call" by not supporting Imus.

As far as the advertisers suffering by staying connected, please...the american public has very short memories and Staples, Proctor & Gamble, Spring Nextel, GM or American Express would not be impacted at all by this silly turn of events.

for once, I agree with you JD.

remind me again: was Imus the one who came up with the word "ho?" These same PC sponsors run to have one of those rappers whose every other word is ho appear in their commercials.

Hey, it could not have happened to a better guy.

Why are you so against PC? They way you talk, I would think you were a Sean Hannity Supporter. HA!
