Local news can be tragic...

I am sure you have heard about the story of the guy who strangled his wife and dismembered her in MI. Truly horrific, sad, numbing and any other adjective to describe a reality that seems stranger than fiction. The children (4 and 6) are the beneficiaries of a future without both parents due to an unparalleled selfishness on the part of the twisted actions of their father who committed this terrible crime to his family. There are so many details in this story that make a person sick and with the constant stream of media attention given to tragedies across the world, this story upsets me greatly. Is it because it happened locally? Is it because I have a child and could not imagine her being without her parents? Is it because you never REALLY know what happens within the four walls of people's homes? Does this do anything to confirm my distrust of human beings? Let me think about that....Uh, yes.

Say a prayer for these two kids because they have a rough future ahead of them. :(

true... apparently that idiot was not thinking about his kids

Everyone has problems. Such is life.

Imagine all those kids in Iraq that have had their parents taken away from them by the US government. Now those kids I feel sorry for.

Whaddayagonna do? This kind of stuff happens everywhere. Of course it upsets you more because it happened in your neck of the woods. Anything terrible that happens close to home immediately grabs your attention. If this had happened halfway around the world I doubt you would've taken the time to write a post about it.

Shesh,
D and Dave,
You guys are ridiculous...Problems? Uh, ok...This post had nothing to do with the US GOV or Iraq in any way and I know it's hard for you to say anything about any subject without taking a jab at this horrible government that you select to support by your presence in this country..get over it man or get out. We all have that choice....

Dave,
Dismembering happens everywhere? I guess I need to open my eyes and pick the right news to read for that minor detail...My attention is grabbed by things outside of my area, but the significance is that mainstream news is delayed in the details that are reported since the local media is on the case more rapidly. This blog is not about horrible news, therefore news that I read that happens halfway around the world is something I may or may not post about....

Hey don't get on my case, you asked the question. And I when I said this kind of stuff happens everywhere I wasn't just talking about dismembering but any horrific crime.

Of course it sucks what is going on in Michigan with that dimented murderer. What is happening in Iraq is much worse than what is going on in Michigan. You ever get an e-mail that says, "Each day there are more murders in the US than US troops killed in Iraq." I guess that is supposed to justify the war, especially when they don't mention the very large amount of innocent civilians who are killed each day in Iraq. What about them ? Selective statistics

Have to agree with Dave there. And you have totally missed my point which Dave seemed to grasp on. I was not singling out the US or the war, I was saying that bad things happen everywhere.
You should know better than saying that stupid "love it or leave it" nonsense. I am in PR now and I can't "leave it" because those bastards are here and will not leave my Country. How does that sit in your heart you coconut.

Oh, and what is the meaning of "We are ridiculous...problems"? If you wish to end a sentence use a period. Not an Ellipsis

Coconut? Nice to be given THAT title for the first time in my life...Don't get on that NameCallingTrain D. Really. You'll lose EVERY time and swiftly at that. That's all I'll mention since you don't have enough tissue to drown your tears if I unleash on you...

As far as Dave getting it, that's nice and I understood you were saying things happen everywhere, but the constant recycling of trashing the US gov. is old and predictable. Whether "love it or leave it" is nonsense or not, it's the truth.

As far as correcting my sentence structure goes....remind me when comp class is in session......and I will try to avoid getting any points deducted.....

Yes fight, fight! Kick his ass, Seabass. Sorry, Josue, but I doubt Dan would be crying at anything you could say. In fact, I think both of you would have plenty of ammunition to use against each other. Not that you would, though, I mean we are family, right? We aren't supposed to fight.

Word Dave...The reality of "not being able to pick your family" dances in the distance and in the end people just have to live with themselves and saying anything does nothing to rid others of their own sad reality....oh snap!

daaamn! I missed all this little civil war! :)

I cannot BELIEVE that you would condone such a blatant disregard for freedom of speech.

It is not "the truth" there boy-o, but it is a lie that is used by those who would pass such laws as the sedition act of 1918.

You would silence any voice of opposition to the injustice around you. Colour me disappointed, Cousin, and a little ashamed.

You can colour yourself whatever you like d and be ashamed any day of the week...pat yourself on the back for that and remind me again if you can do anything else but try to contradict most people that speak around you....Your "freedom of speech" arguements are myopic and it's too bad we are not thrown back into 1965 because you'd be a long-haired dude hittin' the hippie lettuce and sleeping next to a chick w/o shaved armpits...bravo d! bravo!!

You say that like it is a bad thing. Come on! That was not even a reply. Pity. It is like talking to a politician.
