Sheesh..I'm not the biggest fan of a full-scale Universal Health Care situation, but I certainly like to hear ideas about it. I am not an economist, nor do I play one on TV, but the cost of this long, drawn-out and stupid war may have caused us to kiss that concept good-bye.

If the issue is with socialized medicine; our healthcare system already utilizes several forms of socialized medicine: think medicare/medicaid. I don't think it's the worst idea in the world, considering that the current system is confusing and stupid. At least a general level of service for all would be nice - you know, the basics: general checkups, vaccines/shots, dentist. Is that something horrible? Could it get any more corrupt than HMO's?
What I find pretty funny is that our (and by "our" I mean "your") taxes are paying for Iraqi Universal Health Care.

Yes, "the d" is correct. I'm angry and sad to say that it's true. In Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, a detainee received free open heart surgery - the government flew a heart surgeon from the states to help the nontaxpaying, American killing insurgent prisoner. I don't understand. I get stupified constantly by our government, especially how they use our taxes.
